Theo Walcott is in the wish-list of Pep Guardiola

According to recent reports and rumors, Pep Guardiola is interested in signing Arsenal’s Theo Walcott and will attempt to lure him to the Etihad Stadium as soon as he arrives to Manchester City in the summer.

Despite having gone through a disappointing season with Arsenal, it seems like there still are believers out there that trust Walcott and are willing to try their luck with the 27 year old English player who has been dropped to the sidelines for most of the season.

Theo Walcott is getting consistent playing time with the first team but it’s mostly just a few minutes as he is being utilized as a backup option more than anything else.

At the beginning of the season, Walcott was the preferred starter in the centre of Arsenal’s attack but the Englishman just couldn’t secure his position as he failed to score goals or become any significantly important contributor for the Premier League club and this is evident by taking a look at his goal-scoring record in this season. Walcott has scored 7 goals in 23 appearances for Arsenal in their current campaign. Continue Reading →

Comments Off on Neymar would be open to the possibility of joining Paris St Germain

Neymar would be open to the possibility of joining Paris St Germain

Neymar would be open to the possibility of joining Paris St Germain in the future according to his agent.

The player’s future has become the topic of debate after revelations that he only has two years left on his existing deal. The current contract runs out in the summer of 2018 and there are only a handful of teams that will be able to afford the Brazilian superstar even if it means negotiating with the Catalan club. Paris, however, need not negotiate about bringing the forward, as they have vast sums of money to even consider paying the £ 194 million release clause.

A signing like Neymar will be a statement of intent by PSG, who have relied upon the ageing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the past five years. Ibrahimovic is widely expected to depart the French capital in the summer perhaps for a move to the Premier League. The potential arrival of Neymar has been boosted by the lack of contract talks at the Camp Nou. The Spanish club believe that Neymar still has enough time left on his deal to negotiate later. There have been suggestions that Neymar would choose joining Manchester City over Paris at the final moment. Continue Reading →

Arsenal successfully negotiated a tricky FA Cup encounter against Sunderland

Arsenal successfully negotiated a tricky FA Cup encounter against Sunderland to reach the fourth round of the competition. Arsenal, as the holders of the title, should not be surprised by teams looking forward to beat them over other top teams. The club has won the FA Cup title in back-to-back seasons. Defender Hector Bellerin now has set his sights on the third consecutive FA Cup title. Blackburn Rovers are the last club to have achieved this feat, but it was more than 100 years ago in the 1884-86 season. As the competition for the title has increased, teams have found it very difficult to defend the Championship.

Bellerin, though, claims that the entire team has set the target of achieving this feat. It would be easier said than done since Arsenal are already involved in two other competitions – Premier League and the Champions League. After having failed to win both these trophies in the last decade, Arsene Wenger is likely to put his priority in such competitions. Arsenal are especially in a great position when it comes to winning the league. The club has not done so since the 2003-04 season, but they lead the table after 20 games. Bellerin has been ever present for Arsenal in the last 12 months and this is likely to force Mathieu Debuchy out of the club in January. Continue Reading →

Arsene Wenger has claimed that his team are in little need of strengthening

Arsene Wenger has claimed that his team are in little need of strengthening when it comes to the midfield since he believes that the return of Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere will be more than sufficient to handle the needs of an entire campaign.

Both these players must huge chunks of last season, but even with that handicap, Arsenal were able to finish in the top three. There was even a possibility of winning the title for a small part of the campaign. More importantly, Arsenal finished the season with a trophy to their name.

Building on this campaign will be important for the gunners and it would also help them end the wait for the Premier League title. The wait has gone on for more than a decade and Wenger remains confident that the club will be challenging for the league title in the coming season. Walcott missed most of the entire 2014-15 season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He marked his return with a goal in the FA Cup final while playing as the striker. After allowing Lukas Podolski to leave, there were suggestions that the gunners would enter into the transfer market for a midfielder for a striker. Continue Reading →

David Ospina isnt able to take over Wojciech Szczesny

David Ospina might have had some good days in the Arsenal jersey off late, but, he has still not overtaken Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order.

Szczesny was Arsenal’s first choice shot stopper when the ongoing season had started and Arsene Wenger says he still is, but, Ospina is giving him tough fight with his performances.

Szczesny has not played any League match for the last 4-5 weeks. It’s Ospina who has been featuring and there were some stories in the media that the Colombia International had become the first choice for Wenger, but, the Gunners manager denied that yesterday. Continue Reading →
